I believe an Amendment should be made to the U.S. Constitution to designate Term limits for U.S. Senators and House Representatives. Since a U.S. Senator's term lasts for 6 years, they should be alotted 2-3 Terms. As for U.S. Representatives, sinces their terms only last 2 yesrs, they should be alotted 6-9 Terms. NO Senator or Representative should EVER be in office for longer than 18 years MAX no matter how good or faithful they are to their constituence.
Elected office is an honor NOT a career.
Furthermore U.S. Senator should have NEVER been alowed to be popularlary elected. They were meant to represent the STATES not the PEOPLE; that is what the House of Representatives was designed for. U.S. Senators can NOT represent the States if they are popularlary elected. U.S. Senators should once more, as originally written in the U.S. Constitution, be elected by the respective State Legislatures.
